If you didn’t have enough chocolate over the weekend you may want to add this to your week.  I love the dark chocolates, but they need just the right amount of sweet. Walnuts are great and are a little healthier than pecans.  This recipe should be baked or a little underbaked, as pie will firm up after it cools.  We really like it cold, and slice small slices just for a bite of dessert. 1 pie crust rolled thin

3 eggs

1.5 oz dark chocolate

3 T. butter

1 cup sugar

1 tsp vanilla

¼ tsp salt

3 T dark cocoa

1 T flour

½ cup evaporated skimmed milk

½ cup chopped walnuts


Roll pie crust thin and put in pie plate.  Sprinkle with powdered sugar lightly. 

Melt slowly in microwave butter and dark chocolate . 

Beat eggs till frothy with mixer.

Add chocolate and butter mixture

Stir in Milk and vanilla. 

In separate bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder and sugar.

Stir in first mixture. Pour in pie crust and sprinkle nuts on top. 

Bake in preheated 350 degree oven about 30 min or until just set. Do not over bake. 


Serve warm or cold with soft frozen yogurt.. Braums is a good variety.
